Overview

Fly safe, wherever the journey takes you.

Yellow Fever Hepatitis A Rabies Antimalarials Hajj & Umrah

Travelling to exotic countries can expose you to pathogens your body lacks protection against — we call this protection “immunity”, hence the word “immunisations”. Without it you may be vulnerable to infection and disease, such as Hepatitis A or Yellow Fever.

Our pharmacists are fully trained to administer travel vaccinations of all types and to prescribe antimalarial medication, alongside comprehensive, up-to-date health advice before you depart.

Why are travel vaccinations important?

Why are travel vaccinations important?

Travelling can expose you to pathogens your body has no protection against, which may lead to infection and disease.

  • Build immunity before you go. A vaccination — or several — helps you develop protection against serious illnesses.
  • Some diseases are life-threatening. In certain cases these illnesses can be very severe, or even fatal, without protection.
  • Travel with peace of mind. Be fully aware of the risks at your destination before departure.
How do travel vaccines work?

How do travel vaccines work?

We inject a solution that mimics the invading pathogen. This triggers your immune system to create antibodies designed to fight that infection.

So if you ever encounter that bacteria or virus in the future, your defence system will destroy it before it can harm you.

When to get your travel vaccines

Ideally at least 21 days before you travel — sometimes more, as with the Rabies vaccine — so your body has time to produce all the antibodies needed for maximum protection.
